Fancy Footwork

Tennis is played in the legs.

Watch all the great players and notice how they seem to float over the court. They move effortlessly to the ball and very rarely do they ever get caught out of position.

The secret?

Footwork.

The secret to good footwork?

Take small steps.

Tiny little tiptoe steps.

Here's how you do it:

1- ALWAYS be on the balls of your feet during a point.

2- When you first break to the ball, it's ok to take regular sized steps to get to the general vicinity of where the ball is going to be.

3- as you get closer to the ball, your steps get smaller.

Those small steps are what help you 'fine tune' your body to put yourself in the best position to hit the ball.
